Sancal with Mut Design studio in the event Surface&Interface
Mut Design studio is the responsible of the graphic intervention on the Duplex side tables by Sancal for the Surface&Interface event. Mut Design Studio was founded by Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Villalón in 2010. It is a study that bases its principles on the emotional design and it is born with the premise of experimentation and constant rethinking of daily use objects, a mark that is reflected in each of their projects. The design concept of Mut Design with digital printing on the Duplex, seems to be born naturally from the Virtual Melt technology, of its manufacture, from the consequence of getting different decorations. In this way, the designers have focused on a result derived from the development of a printing process capable of revealing and staging the beauty of the base material and the decorative potential (the printed geometric pattern varying the characteristics of the different elements: lines, crossing points, surfaces, intervals …), thus achieving an optical illusion based on Hermann’s grid. The event Surface&Interface shows the results of 9 projects, a result of the joint work of nine companies with nine respective designers or design studies applying Virtual Melt digital printing technology.
