BD with Pepa Reverter in the event Surface&Interface
One of the projects that takes part of the Surface&Interface event was the graphic intervention of Pepa Reverter on the BD Barcelona’s Free Port cabinet designed by Martí Guixé, as it offers a generous surface with a lot of space for the imagination, which makes it a piece suitable for this digital printing project with Virtual Melt technology. One of the possible configurations of the furniture, has a balance that seems impossible and a profile that suggests the silhouette of a powerful animal. About this idea the artist Pepa Reverter has been invited to work, who has interpreted with his personal style using charcoal and modeling some ceramic pieces.
Pepa has proceeded on the furniture with an organic thought, in-depth to the decoration, so that the different surfaces of the coat act as serial layers, immersed in the gestual graphics of the graphical materiality of the charcoal. The dispersed, fragmented and oriented strokes reproduce the discontinuity of the skin as an idea of organic decoration, centered in the process to multiply the effects of the variations in the repetition.
The event Surface&Interface shows the results of 9 projects, a result of the joint work of nine companies with nine respective designers or design studies applying Virtual Melt digital printing technology.
